Minnesota...not so nice

Hay sissy, I am here!
I have to say this week is beautiful, 40's, but the weeks leading up to this have brought many hard, cold nights. And with that, crabby, and not so nice Minnesotans. I think it is mostly because people are cold, and sick of it, but I was started to become very annoyed.

Sitting in the line at Walgreens drive up pharamacy window, waiting my turn patiently....when the next car, in the other lane, who by the way got there a good 10 minutes after me, is asked "Were you next"? She replies, "Well, we both were here....."  If looks could kill....she'd be 6 feet under.

I am trying like heck to stay true to our News Years resolution of being NICE, but it has been tough!  Everyone is in a hurry! I think we need an early spring.....we need it bad. Yes, we know the groundhog says that will be true, but if it isn't, how would a groundhog coat look next winter??

On another note.....I have not tried that spread at Trader Joes. But, I do love any of their hummus ones. I am sorry to say sissy, if I have a 1/2 hour, I am making a trip to Target, and not Trader Joes.  The organic shampoo just doesn't cut it! LOL.  You and Trader Joes....you should be on their payroll!

I have a new tradition....Sunday Night Dinner. I admit, we rarely sit at the dinner table together. So, I thought we need to have at least one meal, at the table, no excuses. Lily picked mashed potatos as her choice. Since, we could not have our first Sunday Night Dinner of mashed potatos, I also made chicken. Each week we will rotate, and someone will pick the meal of the night, of course I have the pleasure of cooking it, but the choice will be different each week. TRADITIONS....start one, or add one.
Love, K:)

Yummiest dip/spread!

This comes in a little container in the refrigerator section...best if warmed up.  I zap it in the microwave and spread it on anything...veggies, crackers, on top of chicken.  It is SO GOOD!  Heidi

YUCK

Based on the previous post, we had to purchase a new oven...they delivered it today.  A nice GE in white (!).

Does anyone ever pull their stove out and clean (I do pull the refrigerator out once/year)?  I never did - probably because it's hooked up to a gas line.  Mine had not moved in 11 years.  This is what we found:

- about 25 dog biscuits
- fishing lures
- numerous pens and pencils
- 85 cents
- a frisbee!
- about a pound of dog and cat hair...disgusting!

grateful

...that I called my local gas and electric company to come out today....gas issue with my oven and the ignitor...so grateful our home did not explode.

While on the phone with MG&E this am..."Mrs. Green, from what you're telling me, the prompts on my screen are saying you need to evacuate your home immediatedly...I'll stay on the phone with you...grab your coat, purse and animals if you have them and get into you car and wait for us to arrive on your driveway."

Time for a new oven.  All is well and safe.

Strangely enough I did exactly what she said...not for a second did I stop to grab any thing, only my purse, George and Charlie.  Heidi

my list

LISTS!   They control my life...I have my daily list and my monthly list.  I love being able to cross items off my list.  I had a huge list before Christmas...because you and yours were visiting so I did some project cleaning and organizing then, but alas, the list just keeps on growing.  On my list to accomplish in Feb...

1.  Organize kids' closets again...it's an on-going battle.

2.  Organize my jewelry...it's in about four different location (drawers, jewelry box, etc).  I just bought some cool hanging organizers from TJMaxx...with tons of little zipped pockets on both sides...tons of room for my jewelry and some of Granny Bernice's and Grandma Bea's...

3.  #2 leads to #3...organizing my closet.  It's an awesome walk in closet for an old house...even has a window...it's in pretty good shape, but it could be better.

4.  Organize my desk and office again...another on-going project.  Could/will be great!

5.  Last but not least, finish putting away the Christmas crap...while chucking stuff we never use anymore!

That will keep me occupied for February....basement and kitchen will be on March's list.
