best hair

'

Ok, I knew the "Housewives" show would be good for something, besides a good laugh. One of the chicks on there said all of her friends spend a fortune on shampoo and hair products. But, she does not. She buys this shampoo and conditioner and raved about it----it is great! I bought it and LOVE IT!!!! It really does feel thicker and the conditioner is not heavy!

Happy Birthday

 Happy Birthday AMERICA!
I love this picture of you, Emma, Evan and Lily walking on Grandad's Bluff. It's so patriotic! We had a great 4th, despite the hot weather. Nothing can replace being with family, nothing. I love it, and want more of it!!

Happy happy 4th of July!  We're all in La Crosse...back HOME.  It's fun to get us all together and today, we're having the annual "picnic" downstairs here at the hotel...it's going to be 100+ degrees today.  The Beraneks and Winbergs are joining us!  Not sure how many of these picnics we've done, but tons of great memories.  We used to always do them at Myrick Park so the kids could use the pool and go on the rides at the park...the same rides Krista and went on as kids...maybe even Papa Pete!  Now it's the STOOPID Eco Park...seriously anti fun for kids.  No rides, no monkeys, no pool, no metal slide, no cotton candy...just squirrels and plants.  Again, STOOPID and anti-fun.

We'll head down to Riverfest soon so Lils can go on some rides.  Must wait for Peter and Chris to arrive though (Peter had to work and play baseball so they are joining us today).  Yesterday, we had a little tea party with the tea party ladies (Susan, Margaret, Jennifer, Suzanne and all of us) then Mom took Krista, me, Em and Lils to 4 Sisters for tapas...so nice and so much fun!

Fireworks tonight!!!  Family is most important.

Bee balm in my garden....looks like fireworks!  xoxo, Heidi

Pistol's Excellent Day...

A week ago I caught up with a friend.  She and I have know eachother since Peter and her daughter started preschool together.  Anyway, she reminded me that her daughter likes to hunt and is thinking of the same field that Peter is...FBI, intelleligence, etc.  I mentioned this to Peter and he asked her to go to the open house yesterday at the Deefield Pistol Academy.  He was in La Crosse this week with Papa Pete and GranJan so actually texted her...her response was "I'd love to."  Long story short, they met up at the gun range with Papa Peter and her ,mom in tow.  After they left, Papa and Peter rented a 9mm automatic machine gun...they loved it!  After this wonderful morning at the gun range, he went on to a GREAT game of baseball....he scored a run that won the game and two awesome catches in right field.  All of his buddies are now calling him "Pistol."  He was riding high last night so, at his request, we bought him a lottery ticket!

So, Peter's first "date" was with a girl who loved going to the gun range with him and who he let shoot his handgun...his "perfect" kind of girl and Papa Pete was there to see it all!

Nothing better than seeing your children happy and feeling good!  He'll always remember this first "date."  H.
