Grateful...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm the only one up (since 5 of course...one day I will learn to sleep in) and just finished the fat paper chock full of ads.  I'm tempted to boycott any business (for my Christmas shopping over the next month) that is open today.  I think it's wrong.  Drinking my coffee, making a pie, doing laundry (two college kids home = oodles of laundry) and strategizing the day!  The pressure is off because this year it's the four of us.  Emma and Peter are thrilled to be home.  Making it all....turkey, gravy, great grandma's stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes, etc...while watching the Macy's Day parade!

Butler basketball is on the agenda and possibly a movie later...after a nice, long walk!

Grateful for so much in 2014, but these are the highlights:

- Happy that we cherished every moment of George's last months.  We knew it was coming and we didn't waste a minute....endless kisses and snuggles.  Great naps next to him and always reminding him that he was the best thing in our lives.  We miss him so much.

- Emma just keeps loving her life at Butler.  She's captain of the swim team and is a true leader.  She just keeps getting faster and it's an absolute pleasure to watch her swim.  Can't believe she's halfway through her junior year.  Can't wait to see what her future holds!

- Peter has been amazing to watch/hear about his freshman year at Purdue.  He loves his school and has challenged himself to try new things.  ROTC has been challenging, but he's risen to it.  He's joined clubs (skeet, College Republicans, Cause for Paws...), has a great group of friends and a fantastic roommate, "Lance."  We are so proud of the man he is becoming.

- Happy that the family is overall doing well.  Happy for Lily and Evan...both doing well!!!  Happy that we'll be in Florida to visit Mom and Dad after the holidays.

- Really grateful for Chris.  His complete dedication and devotion to our family is what makes it all so enjoyable.  He doesn't blink at driving back and forth to IN because it means being with his favorite people in the world!

- Grateful for my position with the Medical Society too.  The best job I've ever had!!!  NO STRESS.

Have a wonderful day Sissy and hug and kiss S, E and L for me.  We miss you and wish you were here!

xoxo, H.
