Pip Pip P I P P A!

GOOD BUY photo | Pippa Middleton

How adorable is this young woman?!  Her style is classy, just like her royal sister's...wonderful example for young women.  Hopefully she will manage a great career and keep it all under control.  I wonder how many babies will be named Philipa or Pippa this year?!  Heidi

p.s. time to dish Sissy!

miracle worker

Thursday night from campaign:  Heidi, we've got Tommy Thompson as a special guest for a fundraiser on June 10.  Invites need to be in the mail on Friday because it's two weeks from now.

Me to campaign:  You are hilarious.  We need to build a host committee (that's where we raise the $!), over Memorial Day weekend, get the invite set up and printed on Tuesday and in the mail.

This will be interesting...people love getting fundraising calls over a holiday weekend!

game winning hit...

by Peter last night...last inning of the last game of the season...a double driving in two runs!  His coach sent me an email today saying he was glowing all night about that hit....ha, we got that beat...Chris and I were downright on fire!  Heidi

SUMMERTIME...

summer sunflowers

1st day of summer vacation!  Emma still sleeping (that will change tomorrow with 5:30 am practices beginning) and Peter up and on the x-box (was gone during the last mo. of studying)...Peter's got his last two games of h.s. baseball season today and his first game this weekend for summer ball.

Yesterday we celebrated Peter's 15th b-day!  So tall, changing quickly and now a sophomore.  He had a wonderful b-day (his words) with lots of b-day wishes, good surprises and a nice dinner out to his favorite place for fondue.

Better week...last week was the perfect storm, but things are better, much better, this week.  I'm so happy it's summer (although in typical Wisconsin fashion, it will be a high of 60 today and then we jump to the 80's for the weekend).  I know I can always count on my sister...thank you!

Love the summer "finds" below...I've aways wanted a bike with a basket!!!  It's on my list to do more biking!  Love the Kate and Wills pillow too...

Gotta run - time to do something "summery!"  Heidi

found it!

I know it is sort of BIG- but I love it- only $199- yikes! Time to get the sewing machine out!

wow

Wow- so much for me to catch up on!
First of all- love the plate from the royal wedding! I was hoping of finding the pillow I saw, have not found it online yet. That will be a great thing to hang in your office.
Love your summer list! Summer excites me as well! I love even just walking out on the grass, picking weeds and soaking in the sun. Love it, makes me so happy!
Hope you have healed after that fall! Ouch! You are lucky you didn't break anything. I usually have a fall in the winter and one in the summer. This winter was not outside like usual, it was down the steps. Broken toe never healed correctly, it is crooked and looks horrible in sandals. RATS!
Sister- you are my only sibling, and I love you. You are a friend and a sister. You can come to me with anything. You know you can trust me!
**oh, and about my spring list- haven't  bought a one yet!
:) love K

i fell yesterday...

I was in the garage, bringing George in while balancing an iced tea, phones and papers (was trying to relax for 30 min or so on the deck in the sunshine, but looking back right this minute, to relax I shouldn't have had papers and phones with me) when my sandal caught on the front of the lawn mower.

Oh God, I am falling backwards...this is going to hurt.

Some how I did not break the glass, myself or the lawnmower, but it did hurt.  My elbow is swollen and I think I'll have some pretty good bruises on my thighs, back and shoulder.  I cried a little and Peter came to help me.

Chris and Peter headed off to a movie later and Emma was at EHS gradution (I guess that officially makes her a Senior now...sigh).

I took Advil, got some water and planted my self on the sofa for a good chick flick and had a good cry.

This has been a tough 5 weeks...all starting with some heartache that won't go away, then our horrible threats at school, a heartbreaking death of a student and a very trying time in the campaign this week.  I feel like I've been beaten up and just to make sure it's physical too, the universe made sure I fell yesterday.

But, today is a new day...off to graduation parties this weekend for wonderful kids we love, everything is green and beautiful and my candidate sent me a text message that reminded me exactly why I work so hard for him.   And my children and husband are here...safe and happy.  Heidi

Not get back to blogging Sissy - I am not a one woman show!

look what arrived today...

Emma Bridgewater Royal Wedding Plate
My little splurge to remember THE Wedding...Chris has oodles of Notre Dame things stored away in the basement.  Not this...it's going to hang on a wall somewhere...maybe my office or maybe in the "hall of fame."  I love Emma Bridgewater pottery and tins...this was just too sweet to pass up!
Lovely, actually. Heidi

betrayal...

comes in so many forms....

in friendships and in love,

in working relationships and this nasty game called politics,

and in our faith in our children's safety.

Sometimes it's overwhelming when you're searching for just one "safety zone" that won't betray your trust.  Heidi

80

So, Sissy, are you running out and purchasing those must haves?  Very cute!

I believe we've been released from our winter coma...it's going to be 80 today...finally!  Might be able to watch Peter's baseball game tomorrow without a coat, mittens and a blanket!

May is just as bad as December when it comes to school activities...teachers in a panic to squeeze it all in...endless music perfomances, banquets, picnics, baseball games, projects, etc.  And now we're in full blown graduation party season.  Last year we were invited to about ten parties...now that Emma is a Junior and she is on three different swim teams, we've been invited to countless graduation parties.  Not sure, but I believe I'll bring gifts to the graduates that actually sent us a physical invitation...not just via FB or email....so tacky and lazy.  It's one thing to send that out to the kids, but when you're inviting parents, not cool.  Anyway, that is my editorial for the day.

Today, I'm going to lunch with my friend Kris and then do some shopping...need to pick up several of my standard girl graduation gift...a Vera coin/id purse...perfect for college.  Heidi

best is not yet to come

best is watching them grow up and having them under our roof....maybe watching them become good adults will be 2nd best.  H.

Will vs Harry

                              VS.

William- most like his mother, handsome (despite the hair loss), good choice for a wife, and seems like he would make a great king someday

Harry- likes to have fun, cute, may never marry, will always be second

Adorable

Emma was absolutely beautiful in her prom dress, and her date looked handsome and very sweet! Wow! Time flies, she is all grown up. It is fun to reflect on our kids, but I think the best is yet to come!
love, k :)

struggling...

that's me...right now.  so much on my little plate right now  (some not great and some very good) and I just want to hide.  I want a day or two OFF...completely off, but I can't...too much on that plate.  I need a break.  I need to think.  I feel like I am teetering.  H.
