I am so thrilled for Emma! Last day of school...possibly ever!!! Unless she is in grad school! I remember that feeling! So awesome!! It has been on long haul, but she did so great! You two can be so proud of her! YAY!!!! So happy she found a job and she is happy!!

50 isn't old...right

I love Chris's advice! That is perfect. 50 isn't old...so don't act old. Act like you did when you were 30. :)

I would love to stay in my 40's, but I will be ok, like you are. We have to embrace it or it will kill us. I don't think I have changed much since my 30's, and my life today is better than it was back then. So that's a positive! I am done with diapers, whining, crying, biting etc. I feel good and have more energy. Sometimes my body doesn't feel that way, but we just need to live sissy!!

I think we have a lot to look forward to! I am excited for the after college stage for the kids, and Lily being done with High School. I don't expect life won't happen, but I feel prepared for anything. I have been humbled in my life...makes me more open to everything!

Stop acting your age...

So 50 has come and gone and I’m still standing.  It was fairly uneventful as I was working at our annual meeting, but all of the cards, flowers, phone calls and texts made it special.  C, E and P sent me on a treasure hunt over Easter weekend to find my gifts.  50 must be a big deal because I got a Tiffany pearl bracelet from C and a lovely silver Tiffany ring from E and P.  This “trend” was started when Mom and Dad sent me the silver Tiffany bracelet a few weeks earlier.  These little pretties made is very special.  Speaking of special, I LOVE the fish pitcher you sent me from Anthro…you know me so well.

After listening to me lament about turning 50, Chris turned to me last weekend while we were in Indy and said “just stop acting you age.”  AH HA – ding ding ding – eureka and no shit!!!!  It was the best advice he’s ever given me!!  That’s my mantra this year.  Not sure what I age I want to act, but I’m thinking 30 (although I was pregnant at 30).  Had a check-up and things are pretty good – losing some lbs would help so I am not missing a day of walking for an hour EVERY SINGLE DAY.  Literally going to walk for my life!  My hair is short(er) right now…debating that decision….sometimes I love it/sometimes I hate it.

This year is going to be about quality, FUN and self worth.
