Gold!
Going to be doing Lily's room for her 13th birthday this year, and gathering ideas from my favorite spot, Pinterest. Going to get rid of the hot pink, going more hipster. The gold polka dots are so awesome. They come on a sheet and can be removed. The ikea desk is perfect, you just have to spray the legs. The sheets are so cute, not sure what comforter I will get her, maybe a new punch of color! The clear chair can be expensive, but found it on Amazon for $27.

In honor of One Direction she thinks she wants an all British room, red, white and blue. Ah, no. I may give her a pillow. Mean Mom.

Ok, so sissy you were so lucky to have adventured over to London a few years ago. I have wanted to go back to New York for a long time and was so excited to go this past year. Now, I have started my London pinterest board. I figure I need to stay about a month to see everything I have on my list! :)

What were you able to see and do. I know you were only there a short time before going to Africa??

I used to get so excited to enter to win the HGTV house every year. The last couple of years, I enter but not faithfully every day. I have been entering to win for the last week or so, and always start to day dream about it! I imagine living in a new house, new city....wow I need a hobby! This year the house is in Reno, NV, not my first choice, but only 3 hrs to San Francisco...aaaahhhhhh going to dream! xx k.

shocked!

I was so shocked by episode 2 of DA season 4 last night. I was very glad Lily and I did not watch it together. I got up and watched it at 2:00 because I missed it early. I guess the episode was very controversial in the UK. I don't like where they are going...isn't it bad enough 2 of our favorites have died. Now this....sigh. love, k

Best Dressed-MARGOT ROBBIE

Worst Dressed- Tie between these three-PAULA PATTON-JEN LAWRENCE AND JULIA ROBERTS

Did you watch Sissy? I watched most of it, and was surprised by a lot of the winners. It's almost as if they take turns with who they select so that each movie is represented in some award. I like to watch the Grammy's for the entertainment value, and the Oscars for the glitz and glam. love, k :)

golden globes?

Lily and I get excited this time of year.....award season. Tonight is the Golden Globes. We like to watch the beginning to see the dresses mostly. After an hour or so of watching it, we do get a little bored with all of the patting on the back.

Do you watch any of them sissy?? love, k :0

Not sure if these two will be able to pull it off again...their humor gets old...

healthy 2014!

January is here and its time to think healthy....again! I got on the scale a couple of weeks ago, and it was heartbreaking. All of my weight I had lost, had been put right back on. It took about a year but now I have vowed to eat better, read more and exercise a lot. So far, I have been eating and drinking much better, reading a little bit (reading The Book Thief) and joined Snap Fitness (30 day trial, so far).

Today I went to Trader Joe's and bought a lot of healthy foods; quinoa, kale, pomegranate, tomatoes etc. I am making the salad below to keep me on track for lunch this week. We also have been eating clementines and lots of apples for snacks. When I get unhealthy, I go all out. I stop working out, stop drinking very much water and  eat whatever I want. I want Lily to be around healthy foods, and healthy people. She said she is excited to try the salad! Hit January head on....go for it! Spring will be here soon! love, k :)
